So I am no longer in Italy anymore. I haven’t been there in two days. It’s so weird here. Everyone’s speaking English. The people here dress differently. There’s now a wider variety of people. Where am I? It feels as if I’m on some strange vacation or something.

Whoops! My bad! Thanks anon!!

I survived my year abroad in Italy!!

Today was my last day of school!! I can’t believe it!! I can’t believe school’s finished and that I’m returning on Friday!!! This can’t be real!! It feels as if this is just a big joke. Like we’re all just going on break, and we’ll be back to see each other again. But we aren’t. We’re all going our separate ways. Back to different states. Back to different schools. Back to different lives. Wow. I just can’t get over this.

You should have seen tonight. Everyone was sobbing as if someone had died. Everyone was even wearing black too! (Me on the otherhand, I have a black heart, so you didn’t find me crying; nor was I included in on the “wear black” memo.) I was really surprised to win a Latin award, along with the best answer to Mr. HP’s pop quiz question and the missed ticket award! I bet I looked awful in all of those pictures. I swear my face was twitching from smiling too much. lol. But I’m really gonna miss everyone! Especially Emma!! (Hong I can see whenever I want since we live so close to one another.) But Emma! Sam! Kenny! Olivia! Chaos! Aldan! Derek! (Other) Sam! I’m gonna miss you all! ;(

Sono andata a scuola

I went to school

(Verbs of movement form the past tense using essere, “to be”, with the past participle.)

Hm…I just realized I haven’t been writing much lately on my blog. Like I’ve been posting a ton of text postings, but majority of them are just facts and stuff. Let’s see. About me…today is my last Sunday in Italy…thoughts like this make me sad. Costanza is already teary-eyed about me leaving. But I told her not to worry since I’ll visit (but I actually have no clue when….). Sadly I didn’t go to Rome today (since the marathon for the Race for the Cure started at 8:30am, so that’d mean I’d have to catch the 5:57am train to Rome, meaning I’d have to wake up at like 5, and that just wasn’t going to happen. But I really wanted to participate…(also, I would have had to pre-register and stuff in order to get the shirt and bag; I also would have needed to fax my info to them, but I don’t have a fax machine, so that was a no.). Another note. I think I’m sick. Wonderful. I’m leaving in less than a week, and now I get sick? (I was told by mom (and everyone else) not to get sick. I just couldn’t help it.) I could feel the illness creeping up on me slowly, like my throat has been feeling weird lately (not sore or anything, but that other strange feeling; idk how to describe it). Great…Tomorrow’s the big Italian exam. I’ll be taking it sick. Hopefully I’ll at least get a passing grade. I already suck at Italian as it is….So that just about wraps up everything for the week. And don’t forget to check out my latest Italog! My last one! How sad! ;(

Did you know…

that on January 1, 2002, Italy adopted the euro as its national currency? (Before that date the lira was the Italian currency.)

Un bar is a “a café” serving coffee and drinks. In most cafés in Italy, you order and pay at the counter before being served.
